Collaborations

A prerequisite for the history of knowledge to grow as a field has been continuous scholarly exchanges. The Lund Centre for the History of Knowledge is based at the Department of History, Lund University, but it has ties all over the world.

At the faculties of humanities and theology at Lund University, there are close collaborations between us and several scholars in other disciplines. We organise joint seminars and workshops and we publish texts. Our advisory board includes representatives from the disciplines of classical archaeology and ancient history, the history of the book, the history of ideas and sciences and media history.

Our contacts in Sweden and the rest of the Nordics are also very important to us. Together with historians with various interests, we have in recent years developed the history of knowledge and established this field in our part of the world. Our Nordic advisory board serves as a manifestation of these collaborations.

In our international advisory board, we have gathered a number of our European, North American and Australian partners and sources of inspiration. The board consists of slightly younger scholars as well as internationally prominent scholars. Through these individuals, we link the Lund Centre for the History of Knowledge to similar centres and research approaches in other parts of the world.
